Our Affordable Rental Programme offers safe, high-quality housing designed specifically for Ngāti Kahungunu iwi members, helping you secure and sustain a comfortable home. We are committed to supporting whānau well-being through dependable and affordable housing solutions.

Who is it for?
Our Affordable Rental Programme is designed specifically for Ngāti Kahungunu Iwi Incorporated members.
This initiative is the first step in housing iwi members, guided by the following objectives:
Strengthen community well-being through secure housing.
Enable whānau to access affordable rentals.
Support financial growth and savings for a home deposit.
What is it?
These homes are part of the Whai Kāinga Whai Oranga programme and will be rented at 80% of the market rate. Each tenancy has a maximum period of 5 years, with annual reviews.
Our goal: To provide affordable rental opportunities and help whānau save towards a home deposit.
Please note: This programme is not social housing.
Criteria to Register
To be eligible for the Affordable Rental Programme, applicants must:
Agree to a no pets policy.
Be a registered member of Ngāti Kahungunu Iwi Incorporated.
Be in full-time employment.
Meet the household income threshold (rent must not exceed 30% of combined household income).
Commit to engaging with financial programmes & KiwiSaver.
Have a positive credit history.
Not currently own property.
